This is a
general description of our weekly homework. It may vary week to week.
Not all items may be given in one day. It will vary depending on class
events. Children should be reading nightly and practicing their math
facts. |

Monday
|
- Spelling – abc order words 1-15 -write the spelling words in
alphabetical order in your spelling notebook.

Math-can be
workbook or sheet
- Reading work -
usually in our literature books or
packet

Tuesday
|
- Spelling – sheet/crossword / Fill in the
blank/ tic-tac-toe sheet, etc.
- Math - see
above/writer’s notebook
- Reading work-
usually from the Textbook - vocabulary words to practice and
vocabulary workbook page, also literature books or packet

|
|
Wednesday
|
- Spelling – 4 dictionary words -
write each dictionary word in complete
sentences
- Science/math/writer’s notebook -assorted
assignments
- Reading work -
usually in our literature books or packet

Thursday
|
- Spelling –
study the 15 spelling words and write a story using at least 5
words. Story must have a beginning, middle, and end.

Math/science/current events paragraph
- Reading -
generally reread story if haven't in class and/or reading literature
book/packet - Study Robust words & question sheet

|
|
Friday
|
No Homework is given on Fridays! Enjoy
the weekend. Students may also read and/or write in
their Writer's Notebook nightly. They should also be practicing their
math facts (addition and subtraction) and reading for 20 minutes daily.
